Why Painting Companies Use Sprayers

Posted On: August 12, 2014

Paint has changed over the years. Preparing for your exterior house painting job won’t be the same as it was ten, or even 5, years ago. Along with the changes in paint, changes have been made in the technology that painting companies use in exterior house painting. Perhaps one of the biggest changes to exterior home painting, is painters’ widespread use of sprayers.

Sprayers save Time

Gone are the days where all exterior house painting was done by a brush and roller. For a lot of different reasons, automatic paint sprayers are being used by painting companies everywhere. Possibly the most convenient of these reasons, is the amount of time that using sprayers cuts down on.
Your exterior home painting will take days with a sprayer; not weeks, as it would with a brush. The best part of that is that you aren’t sacrificing the quality of your paint job by speeding the process—rather, the opposite. Pneumatic sprayers lay out an even, uniform coat. With rollers, no matter how skilled the painter, you’re running a calculated risk of a lot of blemishes and runs in your paint.

Sprayers save Money

When you take into account all of the factors that sprayers bring to the table, all of them result in you (the homeowner) saving money.

  • The painting company won’t be at your house working for as long
  • The painting company won’t need to send nearly as many painters
  • With the thin, even coat of paint, there is less paint used overall, for the same quality job

Some Jobs still use the Brush & Roller Team

Power sprayers are fine and dandy for the bulk of the work, but there are areas of your house’s exterior where they just won’t cut it—the cutting in. The following areas will still need to be painted using the hand-held brush and roller combo:

  • Window trim
  • Door frames
  • Gutters
  • Edging
  • Corners
  • Small areas
